This lovely wedding took place on the perfect fall day at the Olde Tater Barn and was such a joy to be apart of. Sam and John are two of the sweetest souls you will ever meet, their love for each other is so apparent. Both were surrounded by so much love of family and friends, everyone was excited to share in their wonderful day. As you will see, these two dears are a gorgeous couple and have a rustic and elegant style about them. Their vivacious bridal party were just one of the many highlights of this wedding- the decor, location, bouquets, food, DJ... such a wonderful day! And not to mention the wicked truck that Sam's Dad towed all the way from New Jersey! I am just so thankful to be apart of all the love and beauty from this day. Here are a few to hold you over:)
Portraits: Cody&Seth
Oh my, oh my, get ready for some vintage love. These two have been married for 3 years and together for 10. Ladies, talk about a romantic planner- Seth contacted me, so he could surprise his beautiful wife, for her birthday, with a vintage portrait session. They also brought along their adorable daughter, Luna, who is such a character and kept us all smiling! Wait until you see how cute this little family is! When you are used to being behind the camera, it is a bit more difficult to be in front of the camera- but for Cody and Seth it was natural, romantic and just so sweet. Enjoy the love!
Wedding: Sam&Holland
This lovely wedding took place on a drizzly day in Alabama and the weather didn't stop us from enjoying the wedding! Holland loves rain and so it is only appropriate that it rained throughout most of the day. This particular wedding was also fun because Holland has been in Canada, Dominican Republic and North Carolina as a bridesmaid within their group of friends, so this time it was Holland's turn:) Being apart of 4 weddings with a lot of the same friends and bridal party members has been such a joyous experience. This day was filled with so much love, happiness, tender moments and laughter. Sam and Holland are two sweet souls that just love life and they soaked up every moment of their day. Thank you my dears for allowing me to be apart of such a beautiful day! I also had the privilege of having Todd Balsley work with me- thank you for being an inspiration, sharing trade secrets and just plain fun.
Elopement Portraits: Jake&Taylor
These two dears were on the blog back in March, when Jake proposed up in Burlington, Vermont. Our original plan was to meet up again in Tennessee for the wedding, but these two decided to be adventurous and elope! Sadly, I was not available to document their beautiful and intimate exchanging of vows, so we decided to wait until the end of the summer to do our version of formal portraits. Thanks guys for hiking and taking a mini road trip to make these lovely portraits possible:) Enjoy and share the love.

Wedding: Ethan&Amber
Enjoy this sweet and intimate backyard wedding! These two were wonderful to photograph and had such a fun bridal party! Thank you for letting me share in the love, tears and laughs.
Wedding: Meghan&Josh
This gorgeous wedding took place at Dunham's Bay Resort in Lake George, New York. Meghan and Josh have such a classic style and are so relaxed, that I have to say is a wonderful combo for photos. They had quite a vivacious bridal party, that kept me on my toes and laughing. These two have been in love since high school, through thick and thin, and cannot live without the other. Congrats you two and welcome to the family Meghan!
Enjoy the love!
Engagement: Elaine&Ben
These two were such a joy to photograph, their love and laughter was contagious. I can't help but smile as I edit these photos. Believe it or not, Ben and Elaine met on a blind date! They have such a sweet love story and if you can't tell by these photos, they are crazy about each other. I cannot wait to photograph their winter wedding! Thank you my dears for letting me share in this joyous time of your lives!
Wedding: Molly&Corey
Oh sweet, sweet love. I love being apart of and capturing raw emotions. These two were soaking up every moment of their wedding day. Molly and Corey were just a complete joy to photograph. Throughout the day, Corey kept looking at her with such love and when Molly would realize it, she would just grab him and kiss him and then giggle. This was literally all day from the ceremony to photos to dancing. And let me tell you, these two danced their hearts out for probably 3 hours. I loved this wedding, sometimes I think we lose focus when planning a wedding or even on the wedding day and these two were just focused on each other and having a wonderful time with family and friends. Enjoy these two.
Wedding: Emily&David
A rainy day of fun, love and kisses. These two are so sweet and know how to have a good time no matter what- even if their wedding day gets rained out. This beautiful wedding took place in the Adirondacks at the Lodge on Echo Lake.
Wedding: Rebecca&Kaleb
A lovely, farm wedding in upstate New York.
Wedding: Kat&Stephen
Be prepared to share in some beautiful moments with these two lovebirds and the people that mean the most to them. Kat and Stephen are just so sweet and fun to be with, not to mention so natural in front of the camera. It was very apparent that they deeply cared for everyone in their bridal party and they chose each of them for very specific reasons. I will share more later, but for now sit back and enjoy some southern beauty and love.
Molly&Corey: Engagement Buffalo, NY
I took a little road trip up and over to Buffalo this weekend to meet Molly and Corey for engagement photos. I love when couples opt for engagement photos because then I get to meet and spend more time with them. This lovely couple chose the most beautiful location for our photo session- Buffalo's Botanical Gardens. Molly is so bubbly and full of life- seriously so photogenic... I could photograph her all day. And Corey is quiet but sneaky and funny and is so incredibly sweet to Molly! I am so excited to photograph them in June:) Thank you to Kaylee of Kayleetown, for the wonderful detail shots!

Carissa: Baby Bump
This hot momma is a close friend of mine and is a giving, caring and strong woman. Carissa is obsessed with nature and a hippie at heart. This location is a hidden gem and this is the first time I got to use it this winter. I am completely in love with the trees- I always just want to go lay in the middle of it all and breath it all in.

Taylor&Jake: Burlington, VT
Jake began planning is sweet proposal about a month ago. He traveled all the way from Tennessee, to surprise his pretty lady with a gorgeous ring. I'd say he did quite well.
Things don't always go as planned, so on the night of the proposal, there was a bit of delay and we only had 30 minutes of daylight left. We decided to have part two of the engagement session this afternoon and had the perfect day!

Destination Wedding: Chrissy&Mark Part 1
“Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space.”
― Ansel Adams”
Oh where to begin...I knew from our first conversation that Chrissy and I were going to be two peas in a pod. She is just so down to earth, caring, full of life and one with nature. I always ask my brides their story of how they met their future husbands and when I asked Chrissy, she said "Well its a long story, but we really fell in love in Yosemite". They first met at Mark's brother's wedding, which apparently was planned by his brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Gillian. Let's just say props to Gillian and Matt for making a brilliant pair. Chrissy went on to tell me about their relationship and how it blossomed, she described Mark as a nature lover, climber, adventurer, kind and tender man (who also loves snakes- like seriously loves them and would own thousands if he could). When we finally got to meet Mark, I think we all kind of felt we had been friends for a long time and were just picking up where we left off.
At each wedding, you aren't just a photographer- you really end up being an emotional supporter and sometimes organizer, seamstress, flower arranger etc. basically you have to be prepared to wear whatever hat is necessary:) Since Yosemite National Park was so special to them, Chrissy and Mark decided to have an intimate ceremony there. Sadly, the Government shutdown happened to fall right over their wedding date, so they scrambled to figure out plan B and ended up finding a beautiful lookout in Sierra National Forest. Long story short, about half way up our mountainous drive, we were forced to stop because of snow, Yes Snow. I don't know what bride wouldn't cry over such a frustrating situation, I even cried (but I'm a crier, I literally cry and all the ceremonies we photograph) I felt so bad for Chrissy.
So our next step was for the four of us to leave the chaos, go to Starbucks and brainstorm Plan C. They had rented a beautiful home and property for all the wedding festivities and for the reception so we had thrown around the idea of just doing the entire wedding there. It was unusually dry and there was a beautiful dried up river bed in the back yard, which really couldn't have served a better purpose, than for a ceremony! So Ceremony and Reception were taken care of- oh I should tell you this, we had thrown around the idea of a sunrise ceremony at Yosemite, because a few days earlier they were able to go drive through park. And we thought maybe, the rangers would let us do a quick ceremony and a few photos and leave, but then we decided it was too risky. None of us wanted to give up on Yosemite, so we decided that we would take a chance and try and do sunrise photos of Chrissy and Mark. We were all up about 4 am, we did a first look on the back deck, and left for a long and windy drive. I am so thankful that my husband was so willing to drive! Tyler and I had never been to Yosemite, so I was like a kid in a candy shop and I am already obsessed with trees and large scales, so this was truly breathtaking. As we drove up to the entrance, we noticed that the only road open was one that went through Yosemite Valley, but heck we were happy with anything in the park. The sun started to tease us, peaking threw the thin, tiny trees that topped the gigantic mountains. It was just a dreamy ride of fog, blue tones, and just kept getting better and better as we drove- I honestly feel as though words and photos cannot accurately describe what it like to experience the scale, beauty and sheer magnificence of this place.
We finally made it into the valley and I am pretty sure that all of stopped breathing as we saw a ranger stopping cars in the distance. When it was our turn, I made sure that I had all of my equipment visible, in hopes of him letting us get out and take some quick shots. He asked us what we were planning on doing, told him our story and he simply said, "Congratulations and enjoy your time." So with cameras and blankets in hand, we had just over 30 minutes to photograph in 30 degrees! The whole time we photographed, I felt as though the enormous mountains were watching us and I kept looking up in disbelief at just how amazing this whole experience was. So as we were driving back out of the park, Chrissy was telling us her Yosemite stories and told us that literally, every time she goes to Yosemite she sees a bear. As we approached the last two turns before the classic pull off photo spot, we noticed two cubs just chilling in some leaves. Now, don't worry I'm not stupid enough to get out my car, so we enjoyed the cuteness from a distance and I was just shocked at how this trip could get any better. Our final photos in Yosemite are lovely and I'm pretty sure the mountains were all smiling for us;)
The day continued without a single hiccup and we made it back with plenty of time for the ceremony! It was a simple, intimate ceremony with friends and family. They had a guitar player, her father walked her down then aisle and performed the ceremony, it was perfect. Chrissy and Mark are passionate climbers and chose to tie a climbing knot to represent the two becoming one. The Reception that followed was decorated beautifully and so many personal touches within the decorations. We enjoyed some delicious, wood fired pizza, made right in front of us and finished off with a naked cake. It really was the perfect day, no problems and a lot of love:)
The day before the wedding and starting to see that plan B for the ceremony, might not happen.
First look in the wee hours of the morning.
Once we entered the valley, we were greeted by this gentle giant.
This is how cold it actually was..... 32°
